Prof. Anastasios A. Economides [(economid --> uom.gr)] [CV] 

Dr. Anastasios A. Economides is Professor in Computer Networks & Telematics Applications, University of Macedonia (Thessaloniki, Greece). He has been among the top 2% of the most cited researchers worldwide (2019-2023). He is the Founder and Director of the SMILE (Smart & Mobile Interactive Learning Environments, https://smile.uom.gr) laboratory and the CONTA (COmputer Networks and Telematics Applications) group at the University of Macedonia. He received the Dipl.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Holding a Fulbright and a Greek State Fellowship, he received the M.Sc. and the Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering from the Electrical & Computer Engineering department, University of Southern California (Los Angeles).

His Ph.D. thesis, A unified game-theoretic methodology for the joint load sharing, routing and congestion control problem, was the first research to formulate, model and solve routing (load balancing, load sharing) problems in computer and communication networks both as Nash games (IEEE Infocom 1991 and IEEE ITS 1990) and as Stackelberg games (Allerton 1990). At graduation, he received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award from the University of Southern California.

His current research interests include open, mobile, intelligent learning & teaching, user experience, user acceptance, digital marketing, routing in wireless networks and Internet of Things. He has published over 400 peer-reviewed papers that received over 10,000 citations (h=52, i10=155)

He has received dozens of research awards and fellowships and has been a Keynote Speaker at several international conferences as well as member of the program committees of dozens of conferences and the editorial committee boards of many journals. He has coordinated and participated in dozen projects.
